Career-minded students seeking a track to a lucrative career as a Registered Dietitian now have access to a collaboration between two programs to gain both the educational and professional experiences needed. This is all thanks to an agreement signed over the summer by The University of Texas at Austin's Department of Nutritional Sciences and health industry giant Morrison Healthcare.
Morrison currently offers boots-on-the-ground supervised experience in dozens of U.S. cities for those wanting a career as an RD. UT Austin offers an online masters program in nutritional sciences available to students worldwide, a required component of the RD credentialing.
Currently, registered dietitians in the United States earn an average salary of $75,000 per year, or in other cases, an hourly wage of between $35/hour and $43/hour.
Morrison is one of America’s largest food and health services companies, having served the public for more than 100 years and is consistently ranked as one of the “best companies to work for” by services like Glassdoor and The National Association for Business Services. The online Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences program at The University of Texas at Austin is one of the nation’s top-rated master’s programs as listed by Best Colleges and Us News & World Report and continues the University’s long legacy of commitment to education, public service, and cutting-edge research.
